Seriously though we all really enjoyed the visit to the gallery. It was my very first visit and I will definitely want to go again. There were two surprises for me besides all the amzing works of art so very visible in the hallways.

For me i was particularly curious about the show of collaged works in the hall behind the Clifford Stil. and the installation by Andrea Zitter.

There were several women represented in the collage works.

Andrea Zitter's modular living units intrigued both Ger and I. We have been trying to come up with a way of creating an home out on the eastern coast for years. There may be some ideas for us in her approach.

A highlight for me was the Frank Lloyd Wright restoration project not far from the gallery, although I have read books about his work since I was an undergraduate this was my first encounter with one in the flesh. That this is such a complex and important project was an added bonus. We were too late to see the inside - you have to reserve ahead - but the restoration is still far from complete. I would rather see the inside when it is all reassembled and reconstructed to clearly present Wright's obsessive design of every interior detail.
At the Albright Knox as always I loved tripping over important works of art the minute I walked in the door, I also enjoyed the knowledgeable in house security staff and the curatorial project called "collection remix" where works from different eras and different media are grouped around an idea of contemporary relevance.
